PSC  Global Premium Pet B2B Supply Chain Exhibition

January 23rd – The GlobalPETS Forum was held in Prague, Czech Republic, attracting over 300 senior executives from pet companies worldwide. Attendees included representatives from well-known pet food and supplies brands, raw material and packaging manufacturers, agents and distributors, renowned chain stores, media outlets, and industry associations. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the characteristics, trends, and consumer behaviors shaping the pet industry.

Highlights of the Forum

In our coverage of the previous forum, we highlighted key topics such as natural formulations, eco-friendly packaging, and emerging markets. This year, the focus shifted towards "practicality." Speakers on the first day included industry observers, seasoned veterans, consulting agencies, brand managers, and leaders of prominent retail chains.

From a macro perspective, discussions covered reflections on the industry's past and future, consumption habits and trends among different generations, the steady growth of the "cat economy," the rise of online consumption, and the profound impact of AI on consumer behavior and industry development. Practical topics such as industry mergers and acquisitions, brand building, and chain operations were also emphasized.

Insights from the Forum

From the speakers' presentations, it was evident that consumer behavior in the European and global pet markets aligns with trends observed domestically. Online shopping is becoming mainstream, with new retail channels like TikTok gaining traction.

On the production side, the entry of new and cross-industry players has intensified competition. Meanwhile, market demands for sustainability and quality have further heated up the competition.

On the sales front, traditional retail chains in Europe and the U.S. face challenges from e-commerce platforms like China's Temu and emerging sales channels like TikTok.

In response, European pet retailers, both online and offline, are striving to adapt by offering more detailed services, faster logistics, and diversified sales channels.

It is clear that after 2024, the global pet industry is refocusing on survival, development, competition, breakthroughs, exploration, and cultivation.
